Buggy friendly walks in London
London is one of the best buggy-walking cities in the world: thousands of acres of royal park, hundreds of miles of canal towpath and riverside promenade, and a café every four hundred metres. You just need routes where the surfaces are smooth and the steps are avoidable.
The royal parks
Richmond Park is the headline act — a genuine slice of countryside inside the M25, with deer, ancient oaks and miles of firm, flat paths. Bushy Park next door is quieter and just as pushable. Closer in, Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens chain together for a long, entirely step-free push with playgrounds and lidos on route.
Canal towpaths
The Regent's Canal threads through the city at water level — by definition flat — passing Victoria Park, Broadway Market and Camden. Towpaths are narrow in places, so aim for weekday mornings, and join or leave at ramped access points which our walk pages flag.
East London favourites
Victoria Park is arguably London's best all-round family park: a flat lakeside loop, two excellent playgrounds and the Pavilion café for the finish line. The Olympic Park adds modern, fully accessible landscaping where every route was designed for wheels from day one.
Getting there without a car
Check the transport notes on each walk page: many London walks list step-free stations nearby. Buses take unfolded buggies, and travelling off-peak makes the whole day calmer. If you do drive, weekend parking near the royal parks fills fast — early is everything.
